Historic Mother Bethel AME Church Vandalized, Philadelphia Police Say (Updated)

Authorities are searching for a suspect after Philadelphia's Mother Bethel AME Church was targeted by a vandal on Monday, Feb. 19.

The front door window and three stained glass windows at the 419 S. 6th Street church were shattered, city police told Daily Voice. No arrests have been made as of Thursday, Feb. 22 and detectives are investigating, the department said. 

Police said the same man is also suspected of breaking windows at other institutions and buildings nearby. 

He was wearing headphones, a red and white Phillies hat, a dark coat, and blue jeans.
